John Adams - Founder and Operator
With a personal and professional mission to ensure warfighters and decision makers have the tools they need to deter, fight, and win against any threat to the United States, I have more than 10 years of professional expertise in the defense and national security industry.
I bring a strong knowledge base of key customers, capability and solution providers, government compliance and regulation, and mission needs that are fundamental to success for me and your business. My professional accomplishments include:
- Operations and investment experience in a defense-prime corporate venture capital fund
- Program Manager of almost $90MM worth of cyber focused efforts, leading teams as large as 30+ engineers on multiple parallel workstreams
- Won $100M+ in new business contracts spanning large and small dollar proposals, covering mission areas from anti-submarine warfare, classified space payloads and ground systems, government IT, and customers like DARPA, ONR, DISA, NGA, Veteran's Affairs, and NAVSEA.
- Led and managed 20 R&D-focused prototype programs, and completed other major efforts ahead of schedule and under budget
- Leadership of direct and matrixed teams, at various levels of seniority and functional expertise to win and manage programs
- Owned and grew stakeholder relationships at senior executive levels internal to Fortune 500 contractors (SVP level) and customers (Flag Officer levels – Generals & Admirals)
- Non-resident fellow for UC Berkeley’s Risk and Security Lab within the Goldman School of Public Policy. Specialty in industrial resiliency, climate security, and emerging technologies
I hold a Master of Business Administration from University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I also hold an FAA private pilot certificate and maintain an ‘above Top Secret’ security clearance.
A Northern Virginia native, I enjoy reading, running marathons, watching motorsports, auto crossing, and track days, and supporting DC-area sports teams.
